Takeda no Komoriuta
A beautiful Japanese folksong telling the story of a young girl who was forcibly sent to work for a rich family on the other side of a mountain to where her village was. Every day as she worked with a baby on her back she was reminded of her family and sang this song to comfort herself.
This is a stunning little melody arranged so that all levels of band can play it.
A great little number to pop in to your summer concert programme.
